Apr 14 9:00PM // Ace Hotel & Swim Club
Ace & friends bring you the 3rd annual Desert Gold at Ace Hotel & Swim Club in Palm Springs, California, during Coachella weekend, April 14 - 17. This year we have a ridiculously awesome line-up of bands and DJs, parties, DIY crafting with Havaianas, pop-up shops, free Rudy's Barbershop haircuts, Sailor Jerry cocktails, Feel Good Spa specials and our new late night menu at King's Highway and the Amigo Room.
RSVP is required at most of these events -- you can do so on the Desert Gold page.
Thursday night, we kick off the weekend with a Coachella pre-party in the Amigo Room – a special Desert Gold edition of DJ Day's weekly ¡Reunión! with special guests Gaslamp Killer, Phoreyz, DJ Magneto and Aimlo, playing a mix of funk, folk, house, hip hop, dubstep and disco, plus TNT taco and tequila specials.
Friday afternoon, catch Apex Manor, Nick Jaina, Brian Wright and Hawks & Doves by the pool, plus free Rudy's Barbershop haircuts, make-your-own flip flops with Havaianas, and impromptu artist interviews and performances in the Commune with Musicbleep, Yowie and Doc Martens. Our friends at Mt. Fuji General Store present Soul Mountain, a weekend-long pop-up shop with lots of vintage and desert treasures poolside in the Clubhouse til 9pm.
Friday night, see live sets by Punches, Van Rivers and a very special surprise guest in the Amigo Room, and Flying Lotus and E*Rock of Future Legends and Luke Top of Fool's Gold in the Commune, plus a midnight show and release party with Fucked Up in King's Highway with Sailor Jerry.
Saturday afternoon, Blackstrap Molasses, Jenny, Austin Lucas and Holcombe Waller play poolside, followed by A Club Called Rhonda, Tensnake, Jacques Renault, Monty Luke and Goddollars, supported by Scion (you can RSVP for that here), plus day two of the Mt. Fuji pop-up shop in the Clubhouse. Musicbleep, Yowie, Doc Martens, Havaianas and Rudy's spin a second round of their afternoon party in the Commune.
Saturday night, Stronghold presents a night of reggae, roots and dancehall with DJ Shortkut, DJ Journee and Dash Eye in the Amigo Room, and Young Turks and Terrible Records present: Young & Terrible with special guests Syd the Kyd in the Commune, hosted by Food Club Captains Aziz Ansari & Eric Wareheim. At midnight, Magic Kids, Matador Records and True Panther Sounds throw a party with Sailor Jerry in King's Highway.
Sunday afternoon, wrap up the weekend by the pool with Ages and Ages, Emily Wells, Cass McCombs and local band, Evaro, plus a Scion pool party with performances by Drop the Lime, Flinch, Star Eyes, The Captain, Nadastrom, Brodinski and Skeet Skeet (RSVP here). The Do-Over throws a party with mystery guests in the Commune -- RSVP here. Late night in the Amigo Room, catch Night People: The Palm Springs Edition, with Blu Jemz and Unemployed Lloyd. The Mt. Fuji pop-up shop keeps rolling in the Clubhouse, too – pick up some gifts before they head back to Joshua Tree.
RSVP is required but doesn't guarantee entry -- showing up early is a good idea. Daytime events (all ages) are $25, nighttime events (21+) are $10 with RSVP and $15 with no RSVP. Some events are free to all, noted below. All events will be free for hotel guests and Swim Club members; everyone else pays at the entrance.
