Ace Hotel

Kim and Jim Productions, Ace Hotel & Swim Club and Coachella Valley Economic Partnership present the first in a series of classes in the film and television industry. 

The first class is a workshop conducted by renowned casting director Mariko Ballentine, whose philosophy has always been to give actors permission to be themselves. Actors learn to be true to themselves -- Mariko teaches you that there is no such thing as a "mistakes," only out-takes. Here she evolves this concept into helping the actor to recognize what they can and can't control. In Mariko's On-Camera Commercial Intensive, she takes a small group of actors and puts them through various auditions including interviews, improvs, one-liners and more.

Kim Waltrip and Jim Casey are film and television producers dedicated to helping desert locals develop the skills to pay the bills in the entertainment business. 

The cost for the workshop is $200 per person and includes lunch. All work is recorded and made available for each attendee. Open to folks age 13 and up.
