    The Smell -- the legendary DIY venue in downtown LA that helped launch acts like No Age, Mika Miko, Abe Vigoda, Foot Village, The Mae Shi, and HEALTH -- sends a few of their friends to the desert to host a bi-monthly DJ residency.

    The godfather of The Smell himself, Jim Smith, holds it down in the Amigo Room September 9. Then, on the 27th, it's anybody's guess who walks through the door of our old ranch hand bar.

    The Smell is a community-oriented, not-for-profit, volunteer-run music space in downtown LA, open to people of all ages who are interested in participating in and supporting an environment of creativity and artistic innovation and freedom.
