Mike Watt, legendary bassist, solo artist and founding member of The Minutemen and fIREHOSE is coming to the desert for a very special evening with a indie rock icon.
Mike Watt was the founder, with D. Boon, of seminal punk rock band The Minutemen and later part of the often worshiped rhythm section, with drummer George Hurley, of fIREHOSE, as well as the double-bass duo Dos. He is widely recognized as one of the greatest bassists in independent rock. He has played and recorded with bands like Sonic Youth and J Mascis and the Stooges. His first of four critically acclaimed solo albums featured appearances by friends Henry Rollins, Eddie Vedder, Carla Bozulich, Evan Dando, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Frank Black, Nirvana, Soul Asylum, Jane's Addiction, the Beastie Boys and Screaming Trees. Since last year he has been playing with new psych rock outfit Anywhere with Mars Volta's Cedric Bixler-Zavala and Christian Eric Beaulieu of Triclops! Mike Watt has inspired a couple generations independent musicians and fans and we're glad to have him.
