Every Monday, Linda Gerard the singing hostess, a Palm Springs personality, hosts Sissy Bingo, where she sings, scandalizes, charms, and bestows really good prizes (champagne, cookies, and gift certificates). Linda keeps the atmosphere light, filling the space with her energy, her enormous sunglasses, and her flamboyant style. Linda Gerard has been serenading and scandalizing captivated crowds for over 50 years. Her show-stopping cabaret performances have headlined from Broadway to the Copa Cabana to London, Sydney and points between. She made over one hundred appearances as Fanny Brice in the legendary original run of “Funny Girl” when Barbara Streisand was under the weather -- a role that few actresses have reprised. Linda’s original one-woman show, “Ziegfelds Fanny,” was featured in the Palm Springs Follies and for a 16 week run at the Lawrence Welk Theatre in Escondido. In the late 80s and early 90s, Linda operated and performed in her own nightclub cabaret “The Rose Tattoo” in West Hollywood. Linda self-identifies as an OWL -- an Older, Wiser Lesbian -- and she represents the flamboyance and self-love that are trademarks of lesbian and gay culture. She deploys her rapturous vocal stylings, incredible style and vaudevillian antics on a packed house every Monday night in King's Highway at Ace Hotel & Swim Club in Palm Springs where she hosts Sissy Bingo with an effortless joy and sailor's mouth we can only aspire to.
